About me

I have always been curious about what motivates and inspires people through their lives. For a number of years I travelled and lived in different countries and cultures eventually settling back in the UK and a career in publishing and later photography. It was through my own experience of seeking therapy and learning to view myself and others through a more compassionate lens that inspired me to train as a counsellor and psychotherapist.

Lucinda Marland About Me

I’m passionate about personal, professional and spiritual development and I sit alongside my clients with empathy, acceptance and respect knowing we are both on a journey of self discovery to become more of who we truly are.

Alongside my private practice I work for two local charities providing one to one therapy, group therapy and psycho education workshops.

“You can’t go back and change the beginning but you can start where you are and change the ending.”

C.S. Lewis

  • 'I started working with Lucinda whilst going through a difficult divorce and my life was in turmoil. Lucinda’s gentle encouragement and insights enabled me to work through some difficult feelings helping me to have a much better understanding of myself and how I think. I feel more peaceful and have discovered an inner confidence I’ve never had before."

  • "I went to Lucinda because I was struggling to stay motivated to get through the day. I realised I had held on to how I was feeling about losing my dad for a very long time. Working with Lucinda I felt I could say whatever I needed to and now I don’t feel constantly overwhelmed by my thoughts and feelings, I can break them down and calm myself, something I was unable to do before."

  • "Often the most productive sessions were the ones when I arrived not knowing what I wanted to talk about. Lucinda has helped me to gain a deeper understanding of myself, I’m learning to press pause and to find the joy that I’d buried under all the ‘doing’."

Let’s make a start.
